About me
My name is Matt, and my pronouns are he/him. I'm a concept artist and illustrator, specialising predominantly in character design, although prop and creature design are also within my repertoire. I have been lucky enough to study comics & concept art at the University of Hertfordshire, and have not taken the opportunity lightly, expanding my horizons, working hard and trying to learn all the software now at my disposal in order to best prepare for ending up in the industry. My ideal industry job would be working with visual novels, given my love for titles such as Nitro+CHiRAL's DRAMAtical Murder, Slow Damage, ADELTA's Hashihime of the Old Book Town, and many others. However, I have worked on projects in university of a large swathe of mediums, such as games, comics, and animations, as a concept artist. I have worked with themes and motifs of high fantasy, religion, the ocean, and many others, having accrued a large inspiration bank through research, and simple recreational consumption of media. I have so many of my own stories to tell, and so much of my own creativity and innovation to pour into others. Working on my Degree Project with my group at university has allowed me to gain valuable and highly enjoyable experience in 2D Concept Art for games, thinking in new ways about my designs.
